You can already speak English.
But speaking English and feeling like yourself in English aren't always the same thing.
It's finding the words quickly enough in the meeting.
Explaining an idea with the precision it deserves.
Joining the conversation rather than rehearsing what you're going to say.
Disagreeing.
Making a joke.
Handling a conversation you didn't prepare for.
It's knowing that the person people meet in English is the same capable, interesting person you know yourself to be.
This is what we work on.
A little more than better English.
Say what you mean.
Find precise, natural English for the situations and conversations that matter to you.
Trust yourself to speak.
Build confidence through real conversation, thoughtful practice and useful feedback.
Sound like yourself.
Develop an English voice that reflects your personality, experience and expertise.
Hi, I'm Amy.
I'm a qualified language teacher from the UK, now living in Hamburg.
I've lived and worked in several countries, changed careers and spent much of my life learning languages. Along the way, I've seen first-hand how the way we communicate can shape our work, relationships and experience of a new place.
I studied French and Italian at degree level, know some Spanish and I'm now learning German — currently around B2 — so I know both the joy and frustration of trying to find the right words in another language.
It's one of the reasons I love this work.
I help people feel more comfortable using the English they already have, while building the language they need for the work, conversations and changes happening in their lives.
